The passion and resolve that two people demonstrate in achieving a big dream eventually leads them to the eureka moment. M. Mohankumar pens a poem.
No one spoke a word of encouragement.
We heard of jibes and snide remarks
being made against us. ‘It’s a pipe dream,’
the top man said, cold-shouldering us.
It was a dream, sir, a big dream, that we,
the two of us, nourished day and night.
Did they think we were vain and brash,
lacking in skill and hardihood? We were
firm in our resolve; inspired by men who
blazed new trails, achieved the miraculous.
A steady flame of passion burned in us.
The going was tough. And it got tougher
as we went along. We stumbled and tripped,
but got up and moved forward. Sometimes
we took wrong turns and had to backtrack.
And more than once, we slipped downhill,
slipped so far down that we felt crushed,
and despaired. But not for long, for nothing
could quench the burning passion within us.
We gathered our wits, mustered courage
and struggled on. And, and all too suddenly,
found ourselves standing on the pinnacle.
The eureka moment had arrived.
